Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is a therapeutic process in which essential oils are used to support emotional, physical and spiritual health. Aromatherapy works via it's influence on the brain, especially the limbic system through the olfactory system. It also works due to the pharmacological effects of the essential oils. Because there are no big drug companies funding scientific studies, the efficacy rates of aromatherapy is unknown. However, some preliminary clinical studies of aromatherapy in combination with other techniques show positive effects. Aromatherapy does not cure conditions, but helps the body to find a natural way to cure itself, improve immune response, and balance emotional states.

Aromatherapy can be used in your session. You can also purchase aroma therapy to support your goals outside of session. Your aromatherapist will provide instructions for your aromatherapy blend. Common blends are listed below and are kept in stock. Custom blends can be designed specifically for your particular issues. All blends are in the form of liquid essential oils, which can be used in an aerial diffuser, directly inhaled, or used topically with a carrier oil. Essential oils should never be used directly on the skin without dilution in a carrier oil as many of them can be quite irritating to the skin.

Aromatherapy Blends

Blending essential oils to enhance functioning or to reduce symptoms is a bit of an art form. Aromatherapy is not a magic pill. It is an adjunctive treatment to medical and psychological care. Combination of oils and percentages are critical; some essential oils that assist in small doses can actually be problematic in higher dosis. While there are often up to 8 oils use for each purpose, most blends consist of only 3 oils, rarely four, and in some cases (such as anxiety) only two oils are used. Some essential oil blends are made and readily available, but most are made to order. Common blends are listed below.
